I know the US presidency has it's moments, but I think that it is safe to say that being a mother is by far the hardest job
in the world! Being a mother is more than just being the host of a baby, she is a nurturer, teacher, doctor, bodyguard,
advocate and so much more, but a single mother has the added challenge of (sometimes) being a father as well.
This requires such precision of balance to keep the child(ren) contented and have a sustained sense of self worth.
It amazes me that there are not more entities devoted to bringing help and assistance to the unsung heroine of today's
society--The Single Mother.
As a single mother, I struggle with the need to be stern when I want to show compassion. I have learned to put a more
callous side of myself on reserve because to me it is important that a child learns that the world is full of consequences,
but their home should always be considered as a place of refuge.
The role of a father in a child's life is just as important as the role of a mother, but in the event that for whatever reason,
the father is unable to do so, a good mother is ready, willing and able to take hold of the reins.
This is to give encouragement to everyone in the same position that I am in. It gets hard at times, but your reward will be a
child who not only loves you, but respects you for the sacrifices that you have made in the years past.
God bless every single mother/ father and child of a single parent!
